Today was normal highway riding except for a deture to Mt. St. Helens.
Oregon and Washington highways a lot like Florida, you don’t see much except the trees on both sides. The hills and curves are nice.
Mt. St. Helens was just amazing. As a tall mountain it sits among some smaller hills. It is tall enough to have snow all year around. It is currently 8,300 feet, before 1980 it was 9,600 feet. The eruption blew out the north face of the mountain leaving a large crater.
The area around the mountain is great. You can still see places where the old trees are still laying on their side but most of the area is covered with new trees.
From I-5 to the mountain is a great ride and this being Saturday there were hundreds of bikers on the road.
