Day 36
Today started out with a mission. I was determined to get pictures of Oregon and Washington border signs, so south I went. I crossed into Oregon at Umatilla but it was another bridge with nowhere to stop. I knew if I went east along the Columbia River I would come to a land crossing. So east I went.
The scenery along the river is great. I would never have thought there was so much to see. The valley is lush farmland that was a beautiful green and gold. The grain fields were ready for harvest and the lavender fields smelled great.
I rode these valleys the whole day until I reached Spokane.

If you want to make friends, put a Schalke 04 sticker on your car. Today I was in Walla Walla, WA.  when   I was approached by a lady that knew the team. She was originally from Hamburg, Germany but recognized the sticker. I have had people everywhere talk to me because of the sticker or a shirt.
